The Role

As the Business Accountant you will take care of the financial administration and reporting for Minesto UK, a subsidiary of the Minesto Group, and be engaged in group related business controlling.

Reporting to the Minesto Group CFO based in Sweden, your responsibility is to operate, maintain and further develop the financial administration of Minesto UK.   Within budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting take on specific duties that align the group into a uniform financial model.

Locally in Wales this role supports the various functions and managers in areas of financial control. Most of the daily work is managed by this role, with some support from financial service providers in processing payroll and as a backup & contingency for the processes and reporting.

In the longer term Minesto aims at commercializing its technology on a global market, in Wales and the UK. This role will take part in the overall work to prepare the group for future growth and as such the Business Accountant will join in development projects related to financial systems, group reporting and continual overall improvements.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain sound processes for efficient financial administration and control for the UK operations.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Ensure efficient processing of all financial transactions such as supplier invoices, payment and bank reconciliation, filing quarterly VAT returns, payroll processing (through service provider) and maintenance of the local finance software.
  •  Financial accounting and reporting of Minesto UK to comply with UK accounting principles and Minesto’s internal reporting policies.
  •  Produce statutory financial reports including annual reports with support from a service provider/auditor.
  •  Administrate financial records to be compliant with public funding requirements, reporting and audit. Maintain financial recordings for the gathering of evidence to support grant claims.

Actively support the development and practices of Group Reporting and Group Controlling

Your Profile, Experience and Qualifications

Self-driven and team oriented with an interest in business dynamics along with financial accounting and controlling.

Experienced in processing, checking and reconciling transactions, closing of book procedures and the production of timely and accurate management and statutory reports as well as reporting and analysis.

Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting and Financial Reporting (AAT) with strong Excel skills.

Knowledge of the financial software Xero would be of an advantage.

In general, we are looking for a highly motivated self-starter. A structured and focused Business Accountant with comprehensive experience of working on the financial administration for small to medium sized companies. You have high integrity and understand that your role requires accuracy, efficiency and team spirit.

The ability to communicate in Welsh would be desirable but not necessary.
