As we are expanding the number of operational kite systems, we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer who is driven by the desire to minimise the global carbon footprint and inspired by the challenges involved with moving technology frontiers forward.
As Commissioning Engineer at Minesto, you will be part of an international development team working together towards the commercialisation of a ground-breaking renewable energy technology with global expansion potential.

You will be based in the Electrical and Control Systems Group in Gothenburg but expect frequent travelling to Minesto’s sites for testing and commissioning activities.
Your work at the home base will be planning for coming commissioning activities, this includes data setting, rig testing, system development and post processing of kite data from a commissioning and operational perspective. You will also spend time together with the other engineers refining and trimming the control systems between site assignments.
On site we expect you to execute and manage commissioning activities of our kite systems concluding with handover to operation. Most of these activities are control system related, so interest and background from industrial automation and embedded systems is required to successfully fill the role.
Typical assignments could be:
- Develop routines, processes and documentation related to commissioning
- Execute commissioning procedures and programs
- Provide input and feedback to the development team
- Participate in kite and turbine control system development
- Prepare data sets
We are looking for an independent colleague with high personal drive. The position involves world-wide travelling and at our sites you will take a supervising role, and it is therefore important that you are communicative, flexible, result oriented and possess strong social skills. You also need to have a systematic approach and good documentation skills.
- BSc or MSc in Control Engineering or Electrical Engineering or with focus on automation or control systems
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in commissioning of powerplants or automation systems
- Experience in motor servo system and frequency converters
- Some experience from building models in MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience in PLC, HMI and SCADA
- Medium Voltage systems commissioning
- Familiarity with micro grid and macro grid systems
Applicants should acknowledge that that this position will require frequent travelling, ranging from shorter business trips to several weeks of campaigns.
Minesto is an international company and it is important that you have a confident level of English. This position is based in Gothenburg and basic skills in Swedish is therefore beneficial but not a must.
