We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who is driven by the desire to minimise the global carbon footprint and inspired by the challenges involved with moving technology frontiers forward.

As Mechanical Design Engineer at Minesto, you will be part of an international development team working together towards the commercialisation of a ground-breaking renewable energy technology with global expansion potential.

The role

You will be working in the Design Group based in Gothenburg but also close to our colleagues in Northern Ireland and Wales. The role requires occasional business travel to visit these and other sites as well as to suppliers. You report to the Design Manager.

Your work will include all product development phases from conceptual design to detailed design and supplier selection. This may include the design of steel and welded structures, composite parts, control surfaces and its actuators, sensors and electronics integration. All design is done in Catia V5 and Enovia (PLM).

Typical duties for you could be:

  • Develop and design subsystems of Minesto power plants
  • Cooperate with, evaluate and lead suppliers.
  • Participate in product development for next generation designs

Your profile

Key Qualifications:

  • MSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Documented experience with mechanical design in CATIA V5
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience

Merit Qualifications:

  • Subsea design experience
  • Composite design experience

Minesto is an international company and it is important that you have a confident level of English. This position is based in Gothenburg and basic skills in Swedish is therefore beneficial but not a must.
