DNV GL: Renewable energy investments to triple by 2050

DNV GL, the world’s largest consultancy to the renewable energy and oil & gas industry, has released its Energy Transition Outlook 2018, in which the company foresees the investments in renewable energy to triple by 2050 to reach $2.4 trillion.

The energy mix is rapidly decarbonizing, DNV CL says, but that “will not be fast enough to meet the sub-2 ⁰C climate goal. A strong combination of several measures is the only way for the world to meet the ambitions of the Paris Agreement.”

“We need to capitalize on the affordability of the energy transition and take extraordinary measures to create a sustainable future.
