Ynys Môn MP visits Minesto’s Holyhead operations
Virginia Crosbie, Member of Parliament for Ynys Môn (Anglesey), visited Minesto’s Holyhead office last week and was given a tour of Minesto’s visitor centre and Assembly Hall facility. Minesto’s CEO Dr Martin Edlund, together with COO, David Collier and Business Development Manager, Osian Roberts, also had the opportunity to provide Virginia Crosbie with an update on the advancements of Minesto’s Deep Green technology and the company’s ongoing projects.
A main focus of the meeting with Virginia Crosbie was discussing Minesto’s plans in the UK now and in the future. In the meeting, Martin outlined how Minesto can contribute to the future energy mix of the UK and globally, and how the expansion of Minesto’s Holyhead Deep project can act as the hub for developing the tidal energy industry in the UK, thereby helping to attract inbound investments, support jobs and growth locally in the area.
Commenting on the MP’s visit to North Wales, Martin Edlund said that it was a fruitful meeting with positive feedback from Virginia Crosbie that she is keen to support Minesto’s future development in Anglesey. “High-level engagement with public bodies and policymakers is important to Minesto’s commercialisation agenda. We are encouraged by the dialogues we keep with key stakeholders such as Virginia Crosbie and the Welsh Government to drive Minesto’s development in the UK.”
